Italy has a long history of techno.

It even has its own Motor City, Turin, and has produced some of the world’s biggest and best techno DJs who now play all over the world to legions of adoring fans.

Now the country also boasts some next level festivals, and we round them up here.

SUMDAYZ
September 10-11th

Sumdayz promises to be the most crucial new event in Rome. The multi-stage festival provides immersive audio and visual experiences across the entire weekend and will showcase many entertainment and artistic experiences including a unique digital art exhibition from different curatorial productions and creative fields. French house legends Apollonia, tech house queen tINI, the sleek sounds of Traumer, Romanian minimal pioneers Raresh, Praslea, Priku and Barac, Turkish underground favourite Onur Özer plus deep digging French selector Jeremy Underground and many more all play.

 

 

VIVA FESTIVAL
August 4-7th

VIVA! Festival takes place in an environmental setting and striking architectural context. They are the perfect frame for the international line up amongst dry-stone walls, age-old olive trees, trulli, ancient farmhouses and mediaeval hamlets. It lasts for five days from August 4th to 7th with Alfa Mist, Floating Points, Yasiin Bey, Hunee and many more.

 

LITORANEA
August 6-8th

Litoranea Festival runs from 6th – 8th August in Portopalo di Capo Passero. Headliners include Gerd Janson, Dan Shake, Krystal Klear, Marvin & Guy. It arises from the natural synergy created by the most intense sunset, located on the southernmost coast of Sicily. It has sustainable values, natural landscapes to explore and lots of rich local culture and customs.

 

C2C
November 3-6th

Over the course of the last 20 years, C2C festival has showcased some of the most adventurous evolutions of the avant—pop music scene. This year it celebrates all that with a big anniversary edition in Turin from November 3rd to 6th. Its main challenge is to work with other subjects that share the same vision, inspired by avant-garde and pop culture, aiming to bring high-quality projects to life with Bicep, Arca, Kode9, Jamie XX, DJ Plead and more all playing.
