Spektre are back on their record label Respekt with a stomping three-track techno EP full of peak time energy.

Based in the UK, Spektre are a talented duo with over a decade of experience releasing dark and driving techno tracks on leading record labels such as Filth on Acid, Kraftek, Elevate, 1605 and Drumcode.

Respekt is an influential record label that has signed music from genre leaders and fresh talents such as Loco & Jam, Marco Bailey, Sasha Carassi, Spartaque, Mha iri, Brennen Grey and Rudosa. Spektre only release on Respekt once or twice a year, but they reserve their strongest tracks for their own record label, which makes this a very special release.

For over a decade, Spektre has been a driving force in the global techno scene and before that, they were both successful solo artists working as Rich Wakley aka Filthy Rich and Paul Maddox.

“The Unseen Path” opens the release with its thundering kick drum, ominous industrial burst and thrashing hi-hats, which form a foundation for hypnotic vocals and a spine-tingling synth laced with twisted euphoria.

“Bring Me Fire” is the EP’s title track and true to its name, it’s a smoking hot track with the pulsating tones of an electrifying synth line. The explosive percussion subsides in the tranquillity of the breakdown, which fuses menacing synths with Lisa Rudy’s soulful vocals, before the drums slam back in to lift things up a gear.

“Suspended in a Sunbeam” closes out the release with pitched vocals and cinematic chords that are fused with an old-school breakbeat and grinding bassline layered with acid synth lines. It’s got a timeless sound and end-of-the-night vibe that will get people reaching for the lasers.
